New 2.5" RAID-Enhanced SSD for Desktops and Servers

With more than 24 years experience manufacturing system memory, Avant is excited to introduce a new 2.5” RAID-enhanced, solid state drive (SSD) for servers and desktops. This next generation data storage solution not only improves performance, but also features an innovative design that integrates a RAID storage subsystem into a single drive enclosure. The Avant SSD is designed to deliver enterprise class storage for server and desktop applications. Avant VP of Product Development Paul Goodwin states, “This benefits the high-powered system user. The Avant 2.5” drive takes the RAID functionality of multiple hard disk drives and puts it into one small solid state drive. The RAID-enhanced design allows the user to choose from multiple RAID storage strategies in the drive that increase speed, fault tolerance, data availability or a combination. Essentially, the user can personalize their drive for what type of storage fits their particular needs.”
The Avant 2.5” drive comes in storage capacities of up to 640GB. When compared with traditional hard drives, the Avant SSD offers faster response times, lower power consumption, and has no moving parts. The drive is also resistant to environmental stresses such as shock and vibration.
